Because of the wild succsess of Senate Seeker, Sasha ran over the maximum processor power use for his current server. Because of that, the server closed down his sites. Tech support went away for Labor Day weekend, so he could not get into this games files to re-boot it untill today. Everything is normal on this side of Sasha's online gaming world. Luckely, this is a beta, so no one had their plans for an age ruined.

Thanks to Mythicwolf, I have fixed a bug that we've been having for a while. Thanks to a missing "else" in the code, people would randomly get money when they weren't supposed to. It's not the worst bug in the world, but it's been around since the Beta's of long ago. Now it is fixed.

Age 3 is over and the winning team is Earth. First place goes to )(C Bobadilx, who finished with 660,019,200 Attack and 210,000,000. Second place goes to Thieulix, who finished with 205,413,600 Attack and 300,596,800 defense.
The highest speed level that was achieved (level 9) was aquired by )(C Bobadilx and )(C_Kondar. My host disabled the cron jobs, so the game is pretty much screwed until they let me put them back. I emailed them back asking if I could run them at bigger intervals (read: more time between updates) so we will see what happens. Meanwhile, if I get enough donations, I may be able to buy a new host that allows me to run as many cron jobs as I want, but that is not an option as of now.

I am thinking about adding a new feature, but I want to know if it is good. I am thinking about giving people an HP meter. You would need to pay a certain amount to get it up. (To heal it.) When you attack someone, their HP meter goes down. If it gets to 0, they die. This feature would be very big, so I want opinions on it. Beta 5 has started and with some changes to the stock market, the turns system, the soldiers system, the upgrade system, and the attacking system. I won't reveal too much, but lets just say that soldiers now help you defeat someone. The more soldiers you have, the more chances you have of winning. Also, the more soldiers you have, the more chances you have of defending successfully. Soldiers are now very important! Good luck!

Beta 4 will end tonight at around 6:00 PM EDT or so, so be sure to finish doing anything you want to do quickly. I urge you to stay for Beta 5, as there will be some big changes that will force people to create new strategies. It should make the game more enjoyable and more challenging. It actually addresses some of the problems with the game that people were having during Early-Mid Beta 1.

I have known this time would come and I have been preparing for it. Tommorrow morning, I will be leaving for almost 3 weeks and will return on July 17, 2004. However, I have taken steps to make sure the game survives during this time. Chris and The Rad Red are both moderators as of now. They will moderate the forums. They will also handle the other aspects of the game. My Dad will check my e-mail and handle any adminstrative duties in my absence. (For example, he could delete a trouble maker, so don't think that you can just cheat in my absence.) If there is an urgent issue, e-mailing me would help as my dad would see it and tell me about it.
During my absence, there will be few new features implemented. However, when I am back, I will start coding new features right away.

There has been a lot of pressure for me to implement more strict measures with multiple account owners. First off, you are no longer allowed to "manage" someone elses account. This has caused most of the problems with the game. You can log into one account and only one. Anyone caught cheating will have the second account deleted and the first one punished. If you delete it yourself, there will be no punishment.

Okay, stocks can go bankrupt under certain conditions. This happened at midnight last night, but because of a bug, it didn't work properly. I needed to manually fix it during the day (future stocks will go bankrupt properly) and this caused a lot of problems. I didn't "decide" to do this, it's just part of the game.

The new attacking system makes it so that when you attack someone there is a small random factor involved. It isn't crazy, (a 1000 attack army can't defeat a 1 million defense army for example) but will allow you to have a small chance of winning if your stats are close percent-wise. I hope this change will make up for some of the unpopular changes lately.

Some people seem to think they should only buy one expensive weapon and that additional ones will be useless. Well, this is, to put it simply, wrong. Two nuclear weapons are, logically, twice as good as one. Another misconception is that upgrading attack/defense is pointless. It might not add that much to your attack/defense once you get to the upper levels, but it makes you attack/defense go up more quickly and it also will enable the most expensive weapons in the game, the Nuclear Missiles and the Shock Absorbers. Just wanted to clear this up.

I might as well just say this right here. There has been a change which will make it harder to get a Nuclear Missile and the defensive equivalent (Shock Absorber). Try to buy one (even though no one and in the game so far has the money) and you will see what I mean by this...

Attack Logs were cleared because of a small bug in them. This is most likely the last time for a while. (No promises though.) Remember that this is just a beta, Age 1 probably won't be like this.

Attack Logs have been cleared because of a slight bug which made them display weird whenever someone attacked you and you lost. This has been fixed, so hopefully it will look normal now.

Now, new users start with 70 turns instead of 50. This was done so that new users won't feel like they can't do anything since, unless they're a speed race, they will need 50 turns just to move somewhere. (Of course, they can do "Get Turns" for 40 more turns, but it will be impossible for them to move back to their home planet still.)

I just want to tell all new people that the sign up doesn't even require an e-mail activation. It takes a couple seconds to sign up for the game, so please do it! Also, another hint to new players. It is pointless to attack unless you have bought attack weapons. It will be impossible to win without weapons.

Here are some general hints to players. If you attack someone with more soldiers than you, you will get more Galos. Also, expensive weapons will give you A LOT more strength the weaker ones. For example, one laser is a lot better than four missiles.
