Solar Conflict Beta 2

There will be a reset later today, I really screwed up with some stuff and I need to tell if some of the fixes really did anything. Everyone will start from scratch, but will not be able to choose a new race/planet. (This will be when the final reset occurs for Age 1.)

I'm very glad. At least everyone will have a fair chance.

We don't. Not until the real first age. But this might as well be it. I don't think anyone can cheat anymore. Now, don't quote me, as I might be wrong. But Tony, currently in first, just has a lot of IP addresses and stuff.

I agree, this rest should happen, and be good for the game. A hand to our winners before. They played the heck out of the game.

Actually I don't have a lot of IP addresses. I have a stupid cable modem that does not offer IP pooling. On the other hand I have somewhere near 50 people online at one time that I just mass send my recruit link to.

The reset is probably a good thing. But it seems as though the reset has happened without changing some of the things that were killing the game.

The stock market needs to reflect the actual market and reset more regularly. Otherwise we will see the top players once again control the market, causing crashes that will hurt the little guys again.

Also the soldier recruitment thing... come on Sasha, heaps of people have spoken out about it, and it really does need to be reset to something like the way it was with a fixed price.
From: Tony | Posted: 5/23/2004 3:49:10 PM User Level: Elite User
I actually like it. I send my recruit link to whoever I can. Chatrooms, message boards, IM's and people sometimes click it. If you were saying about getting 2 soldiers per click I am saying leave it that way. If you are saying go back to the old way of buying soldiers. I am saying come on and put it back because no one in their right mind would spend 100k galos now when the most I have seen is about 25k on 10 soldiers.

As user 500 who just clued in to the game, I am grateful for the chance to play on a level field. Thanks for the reset.

I have heard that people use the advantage of having more then one IP address when the log off the internet but I am constantly connected and have one constant IP address. But on the other hand I have over 50 friends online and I have been begging the various ones that were on to click my recruit link. Now I have to update 6 webpages and make real media music codes for all of them. I know someone that I will not mention her name that promised guys dates if they gave her clicks. See people are desperate now... lol

I think that Sasha should take the reset as a chance to clear out the double accounts and the inactive players. If someone doesn't show up in the next week, take them out. If they were just on a vacation or something, then they can just start a new account, seeing as how they would only have missed one week

don't hate the game, hate the player
From: Sylvie | Posted: 5/24/2004 2:28:46 PM User Level: Regular User
I'm happy for the reset as well. However, it's clear that there are lots of people with more than one account. Until that can be actually cleaned out, it's going to unbalance the game and we are going to be back to where we left off. UGH.

Maybe it's me, but I want to play for fun. Good old fashioned spying is fun, but double accounts, cheating, scripting, all that isn't fun for me.

Thanks Sasha. It's nice that you let us all play your game for free.

i second the mass deletion of unused accounts
From: fn-kain | Posted: 5/24/2004 3:18:03 PM User Level: Elite User
Totally ...

There oughta be some way to tell if they've logged in since the reset ... delete the ones that haven't and do it soon. (or, wait til I accumulate some turns and hit em for cash, then delete em)
